The purpose of this article is to make sense of the available data and attempt to reach a reasonable conclusion on the current status of the authenticity of the PG film following recent controversy. The current controversy and newest claim of debunking originated from the announcement and subsequent screening of the film Capturing Bigfoot at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival.

The case for a Mexican Sasquatch population. (Part 1: Sonora)

Certain areas of the U.S Mexico border could be considered ecologically one in the same. Therefore a question arises when considering the Sasquatch. 

Are there any reports all be it historical that could represent a population of Sasquatch existing in northern Mexico?

Answering this question is not as straight forward as a google search and answering it is one of this blogs main goals. As such this first entry on the subject will focus on compiling sources from available newspapers as well as analyzing recently popularized attestations.
