The case for a Mexican Sasquatch population. (Part 1: Sonora)

Certain areas of the U.S Mexico border could be considered ecologically one in the same. Therefore a question arises when considering the Sasquatch. 

Are there any reports all be it historical that could represent a population of Sasquatch existing in northern Mexico?

Answering this question is not as straight forward as a google search and answering it is one of this blogs main goals. As such this first entry on the subject will focus on compiling sources from available newspapers as well as analyzing recently popularized attestations.

The Sasquatch or in broader terms the wild-man phenomenon has a near global distribution. 

Cultural diversity of 'Wildmen' stories

This can be interpreted to mean that the largest difference between large bipedal human like cryptids is simply their name. That is, the culture or tradition that named them. And one may go as far as to call them synonymous with one another by the degree to which they appear to represent a single species.
